Pratt + Paper

Paper, a material most of us come in contact with every single day of our lives, is being used as a medium for a collection created by students from the Pratt Institute.

The collaboration between Pratt Institute and Ralph Pucci, had 50 students from different disciplines, i.e. interior, industrial, fashion design and fine arts, creating designs with white paper. Using different methods of manipulating the paper- braiding, curling, folding , even laser cutting, the results is a clean palatte of beautiful forms and dimensions. Here are some of the images:

Beautiful sculptures created by paper. They look like some kind of hollowed cocoons.

I thought this is really interesting. The rolled paper creates an added dimension to the collar.

Love the interesting shapes created by the curled pieces of paper.

The exhibition at Pucci’s white Gallery Nine showroom at 44 West 18th Street may be over, but you can still catch the showcase at Macy’s windows come 10th January next year.
