Set in Style: The Jewelry of Van Cleef & Arpels

Every time I walk past the Van Cleef & Arpels store, I love looking at the pieces in the showcase. It always amazes me how every single gem can be seen so clearly, not a single prong can be seen in the mystery setting collection, and how 3-dimensional their pieces look. Every single piece looks like an artwork, sculptured with gems!

Van Cleef & Arpels will be holding an exhibition next month, showcasing over 250 pieces of jewelry, time pieces, fashion and accessories from the French House.

Clip Pivoine, 1937. See! no prongs!

The exhibition will be divided into six different themes: Innovation, Transformation, Nature, Exoticism, Fashion and Personalities which will cover their innovative technical skills, jewelry that can ‘transform’ into different forms, designs that celebrate nature, designs inspired by Egypt, China, India and Japan, fashion items and designs worn by celebrities respectively.

A piece from the ‘Zip” collection. Just look at the attention to details! And the fact that it takes about 350 hours to make!

‘Eygptian’ bracelet. The richness of the emerald green, sapphire blue, ruby red and dazzling diamonds are so gorgeous!
