I am counting down the number of days to 12 March!

An event the entire fashion industry is waiting for is opening on 12 March 2011 –Retrospective of Yohji Yamamoto.

One of the most influential and enigmatic fashion designers, this is Yamamoto’s first major solo exhibition in the UK. Featuring over 80 women’s and menswear garments, the exhibition explores Yamamoto’s fascination with textiles. According to the man, “Fabric is everything’.

With his trademark style of oversized, unfinished and unisex looks, Yamamoto is known for his unusual pattern cutting and exquisite sense of aesthetics. Part of the then new wave of Japanese designers, including Rei Kawakubo and Issey Miyake, this showcase takes place 30 years after Yamamoto’s Paris debut.
