Masters of Style: Celebrating the Stories Behind Italian Fashion

Another exhibition! They just keep coming!

I have been watching Somerset House’s exhibitions ever since their Maison Martin Margiela ’20’ The Exhibition last year and it seems they have a steady stream of fashion programming. This month, they opened a new exhibition, Masters of Style: Celebrating the Stories Behind Italian Fashion.

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Italy’s unification, the exhibition gathers six of Italy’s most influential fashion houses to celebrate the stories behind Italian fashion.  Using a different perceptive of media, defining moments in advertising campaigns are featured.  Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo, Gucci, Missoni and Prada will showcase a hand-picked selection of images from their collections and archives, offering an insight into the passion and influences behind their work.

Exhibition runs through 14 August 2011. Somerset House Trust is located at South Building, Somerset House, Strand, London, WC2R 1LA.
