Agi & Sam: flawless tailoring and one-of-a-kind prints

Agape Mdumulla and Sam Cotton started the label, Agi & Sam, in 2010.  Their works feature strong prints and humour.  Expect attention-grabbing pieces and flawless tailoring.

Agi and Sam interned at several design companies, including Alexander McQueen, Armand Basi, Karl Lagerfeld, Carolyn Massey, Blaak Homme, and JW Anderson, before they decided to start their own label specialising in menswear.

On the label’s philosophy, the designer explained, “Our ethos is simple; interesting high-end garments but at mostly affordable prices; a bid to eliminate the elitism and the throw away attitudes all too commonly seen in today’s fashion.  The overriding reason for starting this brand was because of a desire to wear interesting and original garments but a lack of where to find them.  Our aim therefore is to… provide something that we strongly feel is currently (and seriously) lacking.”

Below are looks from the Spring/Summer 11 collection which I absolute love!  According to the designers, the collection is inspired by styles of a Victorian society but with the ideals, traditions, prints, colours, and styling of the Native Americans.  Lovely!

I love would to see some decent men dress like that here.  There has got to be a few….
