re:address – A Fashion Exhibition

On show now at the Kingly Court in London is re:address, a fashion exhibition exploring British vintage.  Presented by London College of Fashion MA Fashion Curation and curated by fifteen students, the exhibition runs through 27 March 2012.

re:address explores the contemporary perception of historical garments as precious objects; either as a museum artefact or vintage clothing.  Focusing on British heritage and design, the exhibition portrays the eclectic vintage scene in London today.

Showcasing the contrast between pieces from the London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martin’s archives and London vintage shops, re:address represents the various functions of fashion and the different meanings it carries.  Whether it’s personal memories, documentation or personal interpretation and expression, the significance of fashion is undeniable.

Catch the exhibition at Unit 1.4 Kingly Court off Carnaby Street London W1B 5PW before it ends.  Admission is free.
