DVF – Effortless chic

I like the avant-garde, the cutting edge, the unpredictable but I admit it can be exhausting to dress up everyday.  There are days when you just want to look effortlessly chic, without putting in much effort at 7am, in which case, the Diane von Furstenberg look will do just the trick.

I wish I had the bucks to buy the entire collection and just wear it for this season.  Nothing but DVF and I will have time to read the books on my to-read list, and do the things on my to-do list; grocery shopping would look a lot better too…

Below are Fall 2011 Runway looks that will work in the office.

The colour blocks and layering of the right proportions make great looks for work.  Best of all, they look chic and still comfortable!  What are the chances of that?  Time to save up!

Show RCA 2011 – Victoria Spruce

Show RCA 2011 has ended, but it was interesting to see the works of the students from Royal College of Art.  The RCA Show is the culmination of the postgraduate students’ studio work and research in Applied Art, Architecture, Communications, Design, Fashion & Textiles, Fine Art and Humanities.  Victoria Spruce’s shoe designs caught my eye. It features a unique intertwining design that is beautiful and unusual at the same time.

The collection is inspired by organic flowing sculptures. Gorgeous!
